Now this might have been the first blog here with an image but the title isn't entirely accurate. All the art supplies are out of their respective bags and boxes, but I'm yet to stick my paintings and palettes on the wall - as is tradition. But it's looking good. I think it's a space I could call mine. I just need to make sure I use it more than I usually do. It's looking beautiful for now though, and I'm really happy with it. I like that it's small and cosy. I hate the plastic table though. Maybe eventually I'll convince Dan that we don't actually need the dining table downstairs and I can move that indoors and make the space even more cosier.
Yesterday - I made Ikebana. It's been a while but Dan has deemed me the Ikebana master. Just found a branchy twig in the yard and I spray painted it black, flowery dried bits on it red, painted the pot black, and filled it with ropes and rocks and Voila! Here's some quick Japanese decor.
The house is looking really good. Slowly but surely it's getting there and it feels like home. It really does. I was a little bit worried about that - because it's such a big space but it's everything I could've hoped for.
Art-wise, I think next week is going to be a little less painting (like this whole month has been) and a little more blog writing because I've been putting it off. But hopefully, I can write and send them quickly - bag some quick bucks and get back to painting. I'm looking forward to it. I think this Art journal is really helping. It feels good to have a place I can come to and have someone to have to answer to. That someone being me. Every day, bit by bit, I think I'm healing. Healing from everything I left behind in the past and I'm getting there and I'm proud of myself.
Until next time!
